Vent-Axia, leaders in low carbon ventilation, has launched its new high efficiency Kinetic Plus E, the best performing Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) system listed on SAP Appendix Q. Offering exceptional performance the Kinetic Plus E boasts a specific fan power (SFP) as low as 0.4W/l/s, combined with 94% heat recovery, thus providing housebuilders and developers with valuable reductions in Dwelling Emission Rates (DER).
Meeting the latest requirements of Building Regulations Document Part F 2010 for wholehouse ventilation, System 4, Kinetic Plus E also complies with Energy Saving Trust best practice. Highly efficient the MVHR system consumes as little as 20W, not much more than a low energy light bulb and only costs around only £20 a year to run. Meanwhile, at 94% thermal efficiency, the Kinetic Plus E recovers many times more energy than it costs to run.
Manufactured in the UK, the flexible Kinetic Plus E is a whole house heat recovery system. Delivering the best performance in its category on SAP Appendix Q, the range combines supply and extract ventilation in one unit. Warm, moist air is extracted from ‘wet’ rooms through ducting and passed through the heat exchanger before being exhausted outside. Fresh incoming air is preheated via the integral heat exchanger which recovers up to 94% of the heat energy that would otherwise be wasted. The unit’s energy saving Vent-Axia Lo-Carbon EC DC fans further improve efficiency and carbon reductions.
In addition, heat recovery ventilation reduces excessive moisture in the air, combating condensation and subsequent mould growth, saving money on maintenance and decoration in the long and short-term. Home owners or tenants are further aided through better indoor air quality providing a good level of comfort and offering the duel health benefits of reducing microscopic fungal growth and eliminating the conditions in which house dust mites thrive, both of which are linked to allergic reactions and asthma.
“The Kinetic Plus E is the new generation of MVHR offering housebuilders an affordable, efficient solution to meeting code levels and reducing Dwelling Emission Rates (DERs). Delivering the best performance on SAP the system offers a combination of an exceptional 94% heat recovery with an extremely low specific fan power of 0.4W/l/s making it ideal for new build developments,” explains Ian Mitchell, Product Marketing Manager Residential, Vent-Axia.
The lightweight compact system has two adjustable speeds, normal or boost, and pre-set speeds can be set on the controller for any required performance up to 400m³/hr (111l/s) 150pa, ideal for a four bedroom house. The supply and exhaust air speed can be adjusted independently allowing the system to be correctly balanced at both normal and boost speeds. There are two light switch (LS) inputs, allowing the unit to be connected to a number of sensors and controllers, such as Vent-Wise, Timespan and Ambient Response Humidstat. One of the LS connections also benefits from a ’delay on’ feature which prevents the unit boosting unnecessarily.
Easy to fit the Kinetic Plus E offers flexible left or right hand installation and features an external condensate connection. There is also easy tool-free access to the removable EU3 filters and the spigots can be installed horizontally or vertically. In addition, the Kinetic Plus E features frost protection as standard. The Kinetic Plus E is part of the Vent-Axia Lo-Carbon™ collection of energy saving ventilation solutions. The aim of the Lo-Carbon initiative is to offer the latest low carbon ventilation technology to reduce building energy consumption and so carbon emissions.
