Stand 65, Hall 2, Screwfix Live 2013, Farnborough International Venue & Events (FIVE), Farnborough, 13-15th September 2013. Leading British fan manufacturer Vent-Axia, is showcasing its quietest fans this year at Screwfix Live 2013, FIVE, Farnborough, (13th-15th September 2013). Installers looking for quiet fans for their customers will be able to test the latest models for themselves on Vent-Axia’s stand. By entering Vent-Axia’s sound booth on stand 65, Hall 2, visitors will have the chance to listen to the Lo-Carbon Silhouette 100, the Silent Fan and the Centra to select the fan with correct sound levels for their customers.
Noisy extractor fans are now an important issue for households. A survey commissioned by Vent-Axia showed that over 40% of people said that they or their children have been woken in the night by a noisy bathroom fan. This noise can lead to households turning off their extract fans. But with condensation remaining a major problem in many homes turning off a bathroom fan can result in damage to the fabric of the properties, mould growth and poor air quality, which can cause health issues.
“Today with many of us leading busy lives noise levels in our homes are becoming increasingly important as we want to be able to relax in comfort and to have a good night’s sleep. Switching off a noisy extract fan is not the answer since this can result in mould growth and poor indoor air quality which can lead to building damage and health issues. At Screwfix Live 2013 installers will have the opportunity to compare extractor fan sound levels for themselves so that they can match a fan to individual customer needs,” said Jenny Smith, Marketing Services Manager at Vent-Axia.
Vent-Axia will be showcasing a range of residential fans at Screwfix Live 2013 including its Lo-Carbon Silhouette 100 bathroom and toilet fan. Central to its series of quiet fans Vent-Axia will also feature its Silent Fan, designed for bathrooms and toilets, and its Centra decentralised mechanical ventilation (d-MEV), designed for both bathrooms and kitchens.
Both the Silent Fan and the Centra have been awarded the Quiet Mark. A mark of approval awarded by the Noise Abatement Society, the Quiet Mark is given World-Wide to manufacturers of the quietest products on the market and is validated by the UK’s Association of Noise Consultants. The Quiet Mark award enables consumers and specifiers to easily select quieter products via the online Quiet Mark Directory quietmark.com.
The stylish Silent Fan operates at just 16dB(A). The quietest ever intermittent bathroom and toilet fan – the Silent Fan is a significant 75% quieter than typical intermittent bathroom fans. Not only does the Silent Fan allow households the opportunity to relax in comfort in their bathrooms, but also allows them a peaceful night.
Meanwhile, Vent-Axia’s Lo-Carbon™ Centra, is an exceptionally quiet fan – achieved through its continuous trickle ventilation. With sound levels as low as 10dB(A) and tasteful styling the discreet Centra has the versatility to be used in kitchens, toilets, bathrooms and utility rooms. Capable of achieving up to 90% energy savings, the Centra not only offers literal peace and quiet for households but also peace of mind that energy bills won’t hit the roof!
