Matt Allwright and Geoff Hurst will be the guest speakers at this year’s Live South which takes place at Epsom Downs on May 19th. Allwright is the well-known consumer affairs reporter who presents BBC’s Rogue Traders and Watchdog programmes. He will be discussing some of the risks posed by dodgy tradespersons and highlighting the importance of using registered electricians.
Hurst is one of the heroes from England’s 1966 World Cup winning team and still the only man to score a hat-trick in a World Cup final. He will be discussing what it takes to create a winning team and recounting tales from his past as a successful sportsman and business entrepreneur.
Live South is an award winning conference and exhibition event organised by NICEIC and ELECSA. Now in its sixth year it is one of the highlights of the electrical industry calendar and last year attracted more than 500 visitors.
This year’s event promises to be even bigger and better as NICEIC celebrates its 60th anniversary.
Mark Smith, Director of Marketing at Certsure, which operates the NICEIC and ELECSA brands commented:
“Live South is a chance for contractors to have a day out and learn more about what is going on in the industry and the business opportunities out there.
“This year promises to be a special one because it is the 60th anniversary of NICEIC and we have a few surprises planned for all our guests.”
Attendees this year will also be able to hear from NICEIC and ELECSA’s Alan Wells, Tony Cable and Darren Staniforth who will be presenting talks about the latest regulations within the industry and also the role and responsibilities of a QS and PDH holder within a firm.
The IET’s Mark Coles will provide some insight into the 18th edition of the Wiring regulations which is expected to be introduced in 2018. He will be joined by a host of other speakers from across the industry for a full day of informative seminars.
There will also be a packed exhibition hall where contractors can try out some of the latest products on the market featuring leading names such as Bosh Power Tools, Elite Security Products, Schneider Electric and Scolmore who are this year’s headline sponsors.
Places are limited so make sure you don’t miss out on what promises to be an event not to be missed.
