Celebrating its fifth anniversary, the quality of winners in this year’s SELECT Electrotechnical Awards bears testament to a healthy future for the country’s electrical sector.
SELECT is the trade association for the electrotechnical industry in Scotland and holds the awards in conjunction with CABLEtalk Magazine.
Staged on 1 October at Glasgow’s top tier Radisson Blu Hotel, the glittering awards ceremony saw 360 of the industry’s luminaries come together to pay tribute to this year’s winners.
The evening has become the blue ribbon event in the industry’s calendar and its exciting and entertaining programme went so far as to include an incredible in doors falconry display.
A sumptuous menu served with wonderful wine and followed by music and dancing provided the platform for a fantastic evening.
David Wright, head of external affairs at SELECT, hosted the event and this year it welcomed two new sponsors in Metrel and Vaillant.
The awards were also supported by industry partners Voltimum, Megger, SummitSkills, The Electrical Safety Council, Yell.com, Electricfix and Schneider Electric.
Mr Wright, said: “The aim of SELECT is to champion the Scottish electrical industry, to promote best-practice and to raise the standards and quality of electrical contracting throughout Scotland.”
He added: “In a nutshell that is what this evening’s Awards are all about - to identify and highlight examples of best-practice so that we can continue to raise the bar on behalf of our industry and our customers.”
