If you are, no doubt you have been finding it difficult to find additional supplies of lamps to meet your household needs, and its set to get even harder with the final phasing out of 40W and 20W lamps now underway.
A report by the National Measurement Office shows supplies are now less than 1 lamp per 10 households, a statistic worked out by the number of households in the UK and this figure is decreasing constantly?
Why?
Retailers are now unable to re-order further stocks of traditional lightbulbs. Many well known retailers of light fittings and lamps have'nt been stocking these for sometime anyway (you may well have noticed!) and this is due to the fact that traditional lightbulbs waste 95% of their energy (which is given out in heat) and there are now many, many energy efficient lamps nowadays from which to choose.
I don't like the look of energy efficient light lamps and besides they take ages to 'warm up'
When energy efficient lamps were first introduced to the market, they were bulky and cumbersome spiral type designs which made some light fittings look 'not quite right' and when switched on would take a few minutes to produce the light which we were used to getting from the traditional lightbulb. This has changed!
Speak to any lighting advisor in your local store or wholesaler and they will gladly show you a wide range of energy saving light fittings.
There is no need to change your current light fittings - unless you wish to do so of course - and many energy saving fitting now resemble a traditional light bulb that you are used to already.Give an energy saving lamp a chance!
Make yourself some serious savings on your electricity bills too!
And no need to worry about replacements for a while - energy saving lamps have long lifespans of around 10 years!
