The new edition of Megger’s comprehensive and informative Electrical Test Instruments catalogue, which includes products primarily intended for use by electrical contractors, is now available and features new products that include time-domain reflectometers, underground utility detection and location systems, water leak detectors, and a qualification tester for Ethernet networks. The catalogue also includes Megger’s latest price list, which shows price reductions on a range of popular items.
Other highlights of this invaluable 40-page publication include details of the latest MFT1700 range of multifunction installation testers, which provide everything needed for 17th Edition testing in a single, light but tough unit; Megger’s versatile PAT testers, which independent evaluation has recently shown to be the most productive on the market; and the company’s world-renowned range of insulation and continuity testers.
The new Mark 3 time domain reflectometers offer an ideal solution to the challenge of locating faults on copper power and data cables. These new handheld instruments are easy to use and are capable of locating faults as close as 0.1 m from the point of connection. This is an important benefit as the most usual site of cable faults is near to a distribution board, patch panel or junction box, which is where the instrument is most likely to be connected.
The new EasyLoc underground utility detection and location system provides a simple and reliable way of tracing the routes of underground power cables and pipe networks, and is particularly suitable for carrying out checks prior to excavation. Another significant addition in the new catalogue is the HL5 mini leak detector, a compact instrument that detects water leaks from pipes using advanced acoustic technology.
For testing Ethernet networks, the catalogue includes Megger’s innovative and cost-effective NET200 all-in-one network qualification tool. Among many other functions, this provides facilities for measuring the roundtrip time (RTT) to determine network speed under dynamic and static configuration protocols and IP scanning to show information on all the terminals connected into the local network.
The latest prices for all of the products in the catalogue, which between them cover virtually every contractor requirement, are included. Among the products that are now being offered at reduced prices are non-contact volt finders, phase sequence indicators for use on three-phase systems, handy socket testers, and a range of training DVDs that demonstrate current best testing practice.
