· Technology Cluster: Focusing on Bio-technologies, Renewable Technology and sports science whilst collaborating with external universities, this 15,000sm focal point will proudly stand 5 storeys high.
· Convention & Exhibition Centre: Serving Yorkshire & North Midlands universities and industry with the prominence of its stunning 20,000sm capacity, the centre will open up business opportunities which are currently unavailable in the North of England.
· Sports Village: Including a health centre, crèche/nursery, library and community centre throughout its 20,000sm, the diverse site will integrate common sports activities alongside activities such as dance studios; each complete with all applicable amenities.
Supporting this, retail outlets and car parking facilities will also be included in the development, but what’s really exciting is the potential for the integration of a hotel and the local rail service.
NAPIT CEO John Andrews commented on just what attracted him to the project...
“I feel it’s important for NAPIT to get involved with any project which holds such promise for the future of the UK, especially when that promise could benefit our members via the numerous contracting opportunities involved.”
Aside from the business-based benefits the ‘Sheffield Works’ project affords, it will also see the regeneration of derelict land whilst ultimately leading to a massive environmental improvement within the immediate neighbourhood as well as the UK.
