Recognising the important role online media plays in helping electrical contractors to broaden their customer base, win new business and promote a positive image of the electrical profession, Megger is, for the second consecutive year, sponsoring the Online Electrician of the Year Awards.
For the Gold Award, which will be presented to the overall winner, Megger is supplying one of its new top-of-the-range MFT1730 multifunction installation testers. Attractive Silver and Bronze Awards, provided by other sponsors, are also up for grabs.
“The Internet and social media provide a great way for electrical contractors to spread the word about their businesses and their expertise,” said Simon Wood, Megger’s UK Sales Manager. “And it’s important to remember that the Internet and social media also help contractors to stay up to date and well informed, and to discuss problems and issues with their colleagues.”
“For these reasons, we believe that it’s important for contractors to make full and effective use of these new media, as Megger itself does. It is, therefore, a real pleasure for us to be able to again support the On-Line Electrician of the Year Awards.”
Entries for the awards must be made between 1st July and 1st September 2012 at the official awards website: www.electricianawards.co.uk. Contractors can nominate themselves, or they can be nominated by others. The website also gives full details of terms and conditions, as well as explaining the judging criteria.
The Megger MFT1730 multifunction tester that is being offered as the Gold Award has been designed to combine safety with ease of use and versatility. Not only does it provide all of the functions needed for testing domestic and commercial installations, it also provides many other features, including the ability to check phase rotation of three-phase supplies and to test three-phase RCDs.
The MFT1730 also has an internal memory for storing test results, which can subsequently be downloaded to a computer, laptop or even a mobile phone via a Bluetooth wireless link. This makes the preparation of test certificates fast and easy, and eliminates the errors that often occur when certificates are completely manually.
