TrustMark, the Government endorsed quality mark for tradesmen, has welcomed the launch of the HomeOwners Alliance (HOA), the new organisation which champions the interests of Britain’s homeowners and those who aspire to own a home.
Liz Male, Chairman of TrustMark said:
“The HomeOwners Alliance is coming to the UK at just the right time. Modelled on very successful similar organisations elsewhere in Europe, the HOA will give homeowners a stronger voice on critical issues around buying, selling, owning and maintaining a home.
“With UK home ownership at its lowest level for 24 years, we need to ensure there is a consistent message to government, media and the property industry about the policies that will overcome this problem, the services and support that homeowners need, and the industry practices that need to change. TrustMark wholeheartedly supports the Alliance, and particularly welcomes its work in providing guidance to homeowners on repair, maintenance and home improvements, and its signposting to TrustMark registered firms.”
The HomeOwners Alliance is the first membership organisation in Britain dedicated to serving and championing Britain’s 17 million homeowners and 5 million aspiring homeowners. Its aim is to restore trust in home ownership, by providing independent advice, information and expertise, and lobbying for policies and industry practices to get a better deal for homeowners.
TrustMark helps people find reputable local tradesmen who are vetted, inspected, insured and registered to do work in and around the home, working to a set of Government-endorsed standards. With more than 22,000 licenced trades searchable on its database, TrustMark is able to help people find a good local firm to get the best job done at a fair price, and if things don’t go quite right, to provide a clear and easy to use complaints procedure to resolve any problems.
