My Local Electrician readers, users and contributors are keeping up to date with all the latest electrical industry news using their desktop pc's, laptop pc's or mac's, according to the latest poll from www.mylocalelectrician.co.uk
When asked how they mostly keep up to date with the latest Electrical Industry news, more than 50% voted they still use their laptops and pc's to consume this information, rather than using other technologies like tablet pc's, iphones and smartphones.
Increasing numbers of people are using newer technology to keep up to date with the news; 17% said they mainly use their smartphones, 15% use their Iphones and 8% use a tablet pc. These are interesting statistics for the Electrical Industry. The office for National Statistics also show their findings in their latest report from the 3rd quarter of 2011:
45 per cent of Internet users used a mobile phone to connect to the Internet
6 million people accessed the Internet over their mobile phone for the first time in the previous 12 months
The use of wireless hotspots almost doubled in the last 12 months to 4.9 million users
21 per cent of Internet users did not believe their skills were sufficient to protect their personal data
77 per cent of households had Internet access
