My Local Electrician are pleased to be supporting the EEIBA on-line. The EEIBA is the electrical and electronics charity. The EEIBA is the only charity that exists to help those in hardship and distress who work, or have worked, in the electrical and electronics industries and any connected or allied industries and sciences, including mechanical engineering. This help is also available to any dependants. Help and assistance is provided in circumstances involving all age groups, from the youngest child to the oldest pensioner, anywhere in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.
The EEIBA can help in many ways to provide help and assistance to the many people who need it. For example £20 buys enough mobile phone credit to help someone unemployed find their new job whilst £400 can help pay the deposit on a mobility vehicle. Its not just about financial help though, the EEIBA is only a phone call away to offer help, information and advice. To contact the EEIBA please ring their free helpline on 0800 6521618. All calls to the helpline are private and confidential.
The EEIBA clearly does a lot of good work that benefits the electrical industry – one day we might even find ourselves seeking their help. There are many ways which you can help the EEIBA – it does not need to involve money, volunteers are always welcome and you could become an EEIBA Senator!
Another way is to enter the very popular Power Lottery (transformer) which is an excellent opportunity to win cash prizes – at £1 per number with a top prize of £1000 there really is no reason not to have a go! All current or retired employees of the electrical/electronics industry are eligible to take part, and the draw takes place on the last Friday of the month. For more information please see http://www.eeiba.org/transformer.shtml
You may prefer to make a personal donation – the EEIBA makes most of its income through donations. Company donations are also very welcome – the EEIBA is happy to advice companies on a number of easy to manage contribution schemes which can also be tax effective. There are many national and local events to help raise funds from Golf Days, Dinner Dances, Angling Competitions to Sporting Club Dinners. Why not become involved either as an individual, as a group of colleagues or entertainment for your clients by attending one of their events or by taking advantage of a sponsorship opportunity. For more information on events in your area please visit http://www.eeiba.org/events.php
The Electrical Industries annual event of the year is just a few days away which is held at Londons Grosvenor Hotel on Park Lane. Known as the Powerball, 2011 promises to be the best yet. Celebrating the 'Best Of British' this is a black tie event with a 5 star dinner and fun activities. Tickets are now sold out but sponsors are still welcome http://www.eeiba.org/assets/2011_POWERBALL_leaflet.pdf
The EEIBA would love more ideas and fundraisers – if you've got a great idea you think would be good – we would love to hear about it!
