ECS cardholders can now benefit from discounted diesel thanks to the Joint Industry board (JIB) and The Fuelcard Company forming a partnership. The Fuelcard Company is one of the UK’s largest fuel card resellers.
Through the partnership, ECS cardholders will be able to apply for an ECS fuel card from The Fuelcard Company and receive access to discounted diesel, based on a fixed weekly price for fuel available at over 1,720 participating outlets across the country. They will also have access to detailed data on their fuel usage and spend through The Fuelcard Company’s specialist online reporting. This allows areas of inefficiency to be identified and rectified, such as fuel-guzzling vehicles or drivers with a heavy foot.
As well as online reporting, The Fuelcard Company also provides HMRC approved invoices, for all fuel purchased using the card, reducing the admin associated with running vehicles for work. So there’s no need to keep piles of receipts to verify fuel purchases and claim back VAT.
Steve Brawley, chief executive at the JIB, said: “We want to promote best practice and professionalism within the electrotechnical industry. The affinity benefits associated with the ECS card are a great way of rewarding our cardholders who keep their ECS card up-to-date.
“Feedback from our research highlighted the need for extra benefits which would support their business operations in today’s economic climate. We quickly identified fuel cards as a vital service that would appeal to cardholders, who are predominantly SMEs and sole traders.
“The Fuelcard Company was the standout provider, due to its extensive offering and add-on services to help its customers, and soon ECS cardholders, reduce their diesel costs and save money.”
Colin Peters, Head of Digital at The Fuelcard Company, said: “That we were the first choice for a partnership with the JIB, a leading industry body, is a testament to the service we offer and will allow us to extend the benefits of fuel cards to even more UK businesses.”
