Ascertiva has announced the appointment of Ann Robinson as the new Group Chairman.
Ascertiva is one of the world’s leading third party certification companies with brands such as NICEIC and NQA servicing business, industry and government. Formerly known as NICEIC Group, it has been in operation for over 50 years.
Ann is currently Director of Consumer Policy at uSwitch.com, the independent price comparison and switching service. She is also a lay member of the General Medical Council - roles which are both concerned with consumer interest and public protection.
Previously, Ann was Executive Chair at Energywatch - the gas and electricity consumer Watchdog which she launched in 2000. She brings a wealth of experience to the role and will replace outgoing chairman Jim Speirs who retired earlier this year.
“We are delighted to appoint Ann to the role of Group Chairman,” said Ascertiva CEO Emma Clancy.
“Ann has successfully delivered several successful change management programmes in the various organisations she has held senior positions. I look forward to drawing on her knowledge and experience and leading the Ascertiva Group to a progressive and healthy future.”
As part of her role Ann will also work with the Electrical Safety Council (ESC) – parent charity of the Ascertiva Group.
Phil Buckle, Chief Executive at the ESC commented: “Ann’s background in energy related consumer issues made her a standout candidate. Her experiences are well aligned with the ESC’s aims and objectives to improve customer safety in the home. “
Ann is a former Director General of the British Retail Consortium and Chief Executive of Scope. She was also a Director of Policy and Planning and Deputy Chief Executive of the Social Security Benefits Agency.
