A Spark of Recognition; City & Guilds Accredit TradeSkills4U’s Foundation Electrical Courses
Wednesday, 10 October 2012Tradeskills4U continues to innovate with new City & Guilds qualifications.
Having always led the way with electrical training it is no surprise that Britain’s Premier Electrical Training Company, TradeSkills4U, is at the forefront yet again with the support of the World’s leading Vocational Education Organisation, City & Guilds. From the 5th November 2012, City & Guilds will be formally accrediting TradeSkills4U’s two foundation electrical courses – the MOD1- to be known as ‘Electrical Installation Work within a Domestic Dwelling’ and assigned City & Guilds course code 4141-02, and MOD 2 to be known as ‘Fundamental Electrical Science and Technology for Installation Work’ and assigned City & Guilds course code 4141-03. Both of these courses will continue to be run exclusively in their centres in Crawley, West Sussex.
Both of these courses are integral parts of TradeSkills4U’s course packages which allows students to train in domestic installation. They were one of the first training companies in the UK who came up with the idea of simplifying electrical training by creating simple packages of courses that users could book in one go. This makes the route to becoming a domestic electrician much simpler and clearer for students. The MOD1 and MOD2 courses were developed to be the foundation courses in electrical installation and electro-technology and are the starting points for their Bronze, Silver, Green and NAPIT course packages.
“We found that a number of career changers whether it be through redundancy, resettlement or similar, needed some sort of foundation in electrics so they could really begin to understand the subject matter and begin progressing to more formal City & Guilds qualifications,’ said Carl Bennett, Managing Director of TradeSkills4U. “It became very clear that some practical workshops and theory courses would benefit a range of customers looking to qualify in this industry so we took it upon ourselves to create two foundation courses and named them ‘MOD1 and MOD2,’ he added. “The MOD1 looks at the practical elements of installing whilst the MOD2 looks deeper into the science of the subject and tackles the principles of installation. Needless to say these are our two most popular courses and it’s great that they are getting the recognition they deserve.”
“By gaining accreditation for the courses we have shown that we are not just a quality training company but an industry leader who is able to innovate and create relevant electrical training courses of the highest standard. We are very proud that our MOD1 and MOD2 courses have been fully accredited by City & Guilds as these were two of the first courses that we developed. We created purpose built classrooms and thought very carefully about the course content to ensure candidates received the essential knowledge required for domestic installation.”
TradeSkills4U were originally established in 2005 as a trade trainer covering everything from plastering to bricklaying. However back in 2009 they made the shift to focus purely on electrics and have remained a specialist in this area ever since. In June 2012 they launched their Renewable Energy training centre and have continued to lead and innovate in the market.
In 2011 they delivered more City & Guilds accredited electrical courses than any other specialist training provider offering this range. The accreditation of their MOD1 and MOD2 course will further cement their place at the top of the electrical training industry.
TradeSkills4U offer the widest range of electrical courses in the UK under one roof. These include short courses in everything from burglar alarm installation right up to the City & Guilds 2357 designed to fully qualify candidates as commercial electricians.
