Today (2nd December 2009) Larry and I both had the day off the tools and spent the day at our nearest Elex 2009 electrician’s trade show / exhibition.
It was, as it is every year that we go, very informative and really “ hands on “ for us electricians. I personally find it great to go, not only for the good deals on tools! But also it is a great opportunity to talk directly with the tool manufacturers and the electrical governing bodies listening to what they have to say and give them my feed back as an electrician. I hope some of my feedback will be taken on board and hopefully help in the manufacturers and the other stool holders produce more great products designed for us electricians in mind. Oh and one last reason why I enjoy going is for the free bacon roll! Only thing is a cup of tea for free to wash it down would not go a miss!
Another thing I must say about going to the show is, as I am writing this I feel more tired than working a day on the tools! Must be all the fresh air and fighting my way through the crowds.
Also I also had a really informative chat with David, a sales person for Dialog test equipment, and must say that in my opinion, dialog not only produce good quality and value of money test equipment, but also really helpful and I did not know that they also offer a repair and calibration service for our meters. I thought I would share this with our readers as we took our meter in for repair, as the case was cracked and in need of a replacement case, to our local place for calibration and they have now had the meter nearly 3 months and have told us that they are still waiting for the part! Dialog has the part in stock so we will be collecting our meter and sending it to Dialog for repair and anything else in the future.
If anyone else has been to the Elex show this year, please feel free to share your experiences with us, post comments or suggestions to this blog as I am sure the organisers of the show will read our comments and use what we have to say to make the venue an even better place next year!
