September will see the government publish its response to comments arising from the consultation on proposed WEEE regulation changes after a lengthy delay. The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) have been delayed in publishing its response following an influx of more than 250 comments during its consultation period, which ended in June.
It was expected that government would release a response during mid August, however following the volume of comments received, a formal response is now expected to be published this month.
The consultation on the WEEE Directive came to a close on June 21 and the government continue to put together a response outlining its preferred proposals and any key issues raised from the consultation.
BIS is expected to comment on submitted responses to revised WEEE Regulations and changes to the UK system for WEEE collection, treatment, recovery, recycling and re-use.
