Just a quick update to what I'm up to since my last blog entry. Over the Christmas and New year period I had a break from the studying, and for the past few weeks have just been spending some time revising over what I have learnt so far. The past 2 months have been quite stressful in that numerous obstacles have come along to break my stride here and there, from 2 chest infections to a stomach bug, and a few recent deaths, to an injured dog needing an operation and trips to the vet, Studying for the next module just wasn't happening easily! Thankfully, things seem to be back on track now and I've made a start on studying for module 06.
I have mentioned in past posts the amazing amount of support I have found from people already in the industry, and since the mention of building myself practice boards that support has again lifted my spirits. Numerous people have offered to help out with advice on how to go about setting up the boards, and offering to send me the much needed cables and accessories to practice with. So hopefully, my practice boards will soon be up and running in the cellar! So to those of you who have offered me your kindness in numerous ways, I would like to say a massive THANK YOU!!! Your generosity of spirit and goodwill has kept my spirits up a lot over recent weeks and I am extremely grateful. I'd also again like to give a mention to Barry, one of the t4ts tutors, who's advice on employment issues has been a great help.
Once the boards are up and running I will be taking photos and posting them to my blog. In the meantime, I am back to the books and once I have completed the next Tutor marked assignment I intend to have a bash at the next scenario on the virtual reality software. So it's back to full steam ahead now and I'm happy about that! I am also starting to put the feelers out regarding employment options, one thing that really holds me back here at the moment is being unable to drive, and the sooner I can get started on learning the better, but my main concern at the moment is saving to go on the practical weeks, so driving lessons will have to wait until nearer the end of my training. It's a shame, as it would open a few more doors regarding getting employment, but once the training weeks are over and the money is refunded for my accommodation and travel, then I will use that towards lessons.
All in all I am feeling very positive about my future and finding the course enjoyable. It was when I set out a very tentative step towards getting my life on track and bettering myself. I was very nervous and apprehensive. Since September, I feel already much more confident and finding a more positive outlook on life everyday. This is no doubt also in part due to the overwhelmingly positive support I have encountered. I feel certain that in the next 3 years this journey will have had a massive impact in my improving my life and it's a journey I am absolutely Glad I set out on, a step in the right direction!
